You have arrived...
Come on in and enjoy…our homely and comfy, accessible villa with 2 bedroom; accessible bathroom/shower and toilet; ensuite bathroom and toilet; living area and entrance with a lovely view on to Oyster Arm at the front and back doors; is a tributary off the Manning River flowing to the Southern entrance at Old Bar.

The surrounding garden of the Koolumbut House is beautifully and accessibly landscaped to enable all to appreciate the river at the front and back doors.  

The property is only 7 minutes from the village of Old Bar, with a range of shops including a supermarket, Chemist, Newsagency, Cafes, Club Old Bar, Old Bar Tavern and Old Bar Beach.

Close by is Saltwater Point and Farquhar Park.  Oxley, Mitchell, Charlie’s and Cabbage Tree Islands and Manning Point are found by taking a short scenic drive.

Things we love to do with our visitors is to feed, water, care and cuddle our loved respite animals such as, Salt and Milo the Rabbits; Irene and Bon the Budgies, Gidget and Gladys the Goats, lots of Ducks and Drakes, Chooks and Rooster Wally, who can be your alarm clock, if by choice, to provide an early start to the day.   Also included are Cattle, Pung the horse, Biddy the dog and Blue the cat.  

Our Participants who choose to participate in the Respite garden activities, facing the river, can join in building/changing our sensory outdoor gardens includes with a fish pond and bird bath.  Learning to care for, planting, harvesting our herb and vegetable garden with our Participants under the mandarin, mango and guava trees is always bring much joy.

Walks along the picturesque river bank with Oyster Arm beside you, if walking at the right time of the day and tide, you can often see a pod of local Dolphins playing while passing by.  

The river is used by visitors and locals to enjoy and access the entrance at Mudbishops Point at Old Bar, which is also a short travel by car to Mudbishops Point Road in the Old Bar Village. Fishing is extremely popular activity.

Welcome to Koolumbutt hospitality choices include: morning and afternoon Devonshire teas; fresh fruit, refreshments including fruit juice, tea, coffee, milo options.  BBQ’s on the river bank may be a choice of style whilst being able to access supplies close by in Old Bar.

Respite, for any number of nights for those who choose or need to utilise Koolumbut House, may want time away in a peaceful and beautiful natural environment, with no passing traffic; stunning sunrises and sunsets; wide open night sky and stars, and if lucky enough you might catch glimpses of the friendly local wild life including, Birdlife, Owls, Possums, Wallabies, Kangaroos, Deers to name a few.

One can lie I bed at night to experience the peace, tranquility, “hear the sounds of the night”, the nocturnal animals, crickets, frogs, the hooting of the Pet Owl, the boats on the river or the early wake up call of Wally the Rooster!
